Our merle wolfdogs are bred responsibly. It’s one of the most beautiful coat patterns in the dog world. But merle is definitely a case where too much of a good thing is, well, a bad thing. Merle is rare in Wolfdogs but is popular in dogs, so it seems only logical to breed two merles together to get more merles. No. Don’t do it. Breeding 2 Merle’s will cause double Merle resulting in blind, deaf and deformed pups. People familiar with canine genetics, familiar with Merle coat pattern or knowledgeable about it should be the only ones breeding them. Will only give breeding rights to responsible wolfdog breeders.
